Spareribs with Sauerkraut

country style ribs |

| 1 package |
sauerkraut |
in the refridgerated section |

salt and pepper |
to taste |
| 3/4 cup |
water |

Liberally season the ribs with salt and pepper. Brown the ribs on all sides in a frying pan over medium high heat. Drain the sauerkraut. |

If using stovetop: Place all ribs in a large pot or dutch oven. Put sauerkraut on top of ribs. Add water. Cover. Simmer for 1.5 - 2 hours. |

If using crockpot: Place ribs in the crockpot. Put sauerkraut on top of ribs. Add water. Cover. Cook on low for about 8 hours. |
