| 5 small | onions | thinly sliced |
| 2 cans (14 oz) | low sodium beef brooth | |
| 2 cans (10 oz) | Beef consomme' | Lipton's |
| 1 packet | onion soup mix | Lipton's |
| 8 slices | French bread | 1" thick |
| 1 cup | Shredded Gruyere |
| 1. | Combine first four ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours. |
| 2. | Place the bread on a baking sheet and top with cheese; broil until cheese has melted, about 30 to 40 seconds. |
| 3. | Ladle soup into serving bowls and set bread on top just before serving. |
