French Onion Soup

serves Serves 8.

5 small onions thinly sliced
2 cans (14 oz) low sodium beef brooth
2 cans (10 oz) Beef consomme' Lipton's
1 packet onion soup mix Lipton's
8 slices French bread 1" thick
1 cup Shredded Gruyere

1. Combine first four ingredients in a slow cooker. Cook on HIGH for 4 hours or LOW for 8 hours.
2. Place the bread on a baking sheet and top with cheese; broil until cheese has melted, about 30 to 40 seconds.
3. Ladle soup into serving bowls and set bread on top just before serving.
